We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Inclusion & Behavior Support Specialist to join our team and help create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for all children and families. This role supports individualized needs through direct work with children, collaboration with staff, and consistent data collection and communication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized program supports with integrity and fidelity.
- Adapt materials and resources (visual aids, schedules, etc.) to meet diverse learner needs.
- Implement and model positive reinforcement and de-escalation strategies.
- Lead individual and group reinforcement systems and communicate progress to leadership.
- Facilitate inclusive small social groups and promote choice and empowerment across settings.
- Support development of social, communication, and daily living skills.
- Observe, document, and analyze behavior and progress to guide interventions.
- Collaborate with support staff to share insights and align on goals.
- Maintain confidentiality and follow ethical guidelines.
- Stay current on best practices in behavior management and inclusive education.
Qualifications:
- Background in education, psychology, applied behavior analysis, or related field preferred.
- Experience working with children with diverse needs.
- Strong communication, observation, and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to inclusion and equity in youth programming.
Additional Requirements:
- Knowledge of children's physical, emotional, and developmental patterns
- Knowledge of behavior intervention strategies, social emotional learning frameworks, and disability accommodations
- Familiarity with trauma-informed practices and positive behavior support models
- CPR and First Aid Certified (upon hire Camp Fire will schedule, renewed every year)
- Experience analyzing data and using results to inform support strategies
- If not already certified, certification in the 40-hour Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) training, complete the RBT Competency Assessment with the Director of Behavior and Inclusion (BCBA), and submit your RBT application to the BACB within 90 days of your hire date. Your continued employment in this role is contingent upon meeting the requirement.
