Job summary

Centro de la Familia de Utah is seeking a Behavior Assistant to support children’s social, emotional, and behavioral development within a nurturing learning environment. You will collaborate with the Behavior Specialist to implement targeted strategies and document services, ensuring consistent program delivery and progress for each child.

The role requires a high school diploma with eligibility to earn RBT certification within four weeks of hire, plus experience with young children.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Behavior Specialist to implement program-wide and child-specific strategies and procedures.
  • Support teachers with consistent and accurate implementation of strategies through reflective practices.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of mental health services for children.
  • Provide training on program-wide and child-specific strategies and procedures.
  • Complete a minimum of 15 clock hours of professional development per year.
  • Other duties as designed.

Overview If you're passionate about supporting children’s social, emotional, and behavioral development and making a meaningful difference in their lives, we have a special opportunity for you. We're seeking a dedicated Behavior Assistant to join our team and provide individualized support that helps children build positive behaviors, develop essential skills, and thrive in a nurturing learning environment.

Key areas of responsibility
  • Partner with the Behavior Specialist to implement program-wide and child-specific strategies and procedures.
  • Use reflective practices to support teachers in the consistent and accurate implementation of program-wide and child-specific strategies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of mental health services for children.
  • Provide training on program-wide and child-specific strategies and procedures.
  • Complete a minimum of 15 clock hours of professional development per year.
  • Other duties as designed.
Requirements
Qualifications
  • A minimum of a high school diploma. RBT Certification (Registered Behavior Technician) or ability to earn certification within four weeks of hire.
  • Experience working with young children (0-5) in educational or mental health settings.
  • Strengths-based, non-punitive approach to behavior. Knowledge of social-emotional development and trauma-informed care.
  • Bilingual English Spanish preferred. Pass a criminal history, background, and sex offender registry check. A driver’s license, auto insurance, reliable transportation, and a safe driving record. Complete an employment physical exam.
  • Be available to travel to centers throughout the service area and agency. Be available to occasionally work evenings and weekends as required.
