Orchard Village is seeking a full-time Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to provide data-driven, person-centered support for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities across residential, day, vocational, and community settings.

The role involves functional assessments, Behavior Support Plans, and interdisciplinary collaboration to promote autonomy and safety. Strong skills in data analysis, documentation, and staff training are essential for success.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Conduct record reviews, interviews, direct observations, and functional behavior assessment activities.
  • Develop, revise, and monitor individualized Behavior Support Plans that emphasize positive skill building and least restrictive interventions.
  • Collaborate with individuals, guardians, families, DAS teams, nursing, psychiatry and other professionals.
  • Train staff on plan implementation, data collection, and crisis-prevention procedures.
  • Review behavioral data, evaluate progress, and make recommendations based on outcomes.
  • Provide direct observation and support across residential and community settings.
  • Participate in person-centered planning, meetings, and discharge planning as assigned.
  • Complete timely notes, reports, and billing records per agency standards and Medicaid requirements.
  • Respond to urgent behavioral concerns and coordinate follow-up.

Job description

Orchard Village is looking to hire full time Behavior Analyst.

The BCBA provider delivers person-centered, trauma-informed, and least-restrictive behavior services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. In partnership with each individual, guardian or family as applicable, the interdisciplinary team, and community providers, this role conducts functional assessment activities; develops, implements, and monitors individualized Behavior Support Plans; strengthens practical skills and quality of life; and promotes safety, autonomy, dignity, and meaningful community participation. The position maintains an assigned caseload and provides services across residential, day, vocational, and community environments.

Behavior Analyst Responsibilities:

  • Conduct record reviews, interviews, direct observations, preference assessments, and functional behavior assessment activities appropriate to the individual and service setting.
  • Develop, revise, and monitor individualized, data-informed Behavior Support Plans that emphasize positive skill building, prevention, and the least restrictive effective interventions.
  • Collaborate with individuals receiving services, guardians and families as applicable, Direct Support Professionals, QIDPs, nursing, psychiatry, day and vocational teams, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Train and coach staff on plan implementation, data collection, proactive supports, communication strategies, and crisis-prevention procedures; assess fidelity and provide timely feedback.
  • Review behavioral data routinely, evaluate progress and treatment integrity, and make clinically sound recommendations based on measurable outcomes.
  • Provide direct observation and support across CILA or other residential settings, community day services, employment or vocational programs, and other natural environments.
  • Participate in person-centered planning, interdisciplinary meetings, rights-related reviews, and transition or discharge planning as assigned.
  • Complete timely, accurate clinical notes, reports, service documentation, and billing records consistent with agency standards and Illinois Medicaid waiver requirements.
  • Respond to urgent behavioral concerns within the scope of the role, coordinate follow-up, and support post-incident review and prevention planning.

Behavior Analyst Qualifications:

  • BCBA pathway: Master’s degree in behavior analysis, psychology, education, or a related human-services field; current BCBA certification; and ability to obtain or maintain any Illinois professional license and IDHS-DDD/IMPACT enrollment required for the services performed.
  • Experience providing behavior services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in community-based residential, day, vocational, or employment settings.
  • Ability to complete functional assessment activities, write clear behavior support plans, analyze data, train staff, and communicate recommendations to interdisciplinary teams.
  • Working knowledge of person-centered planning, positive behavior support, human rights, trauma-informed practices, and least-restrictive interventions.
  • Strong written, verbal, organizational, and relationship-building skills; proficiency with electronic documentation and standard Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Valid driver’s license, current automobile insurance, reliable transportation, and ability to travel among service locations.
  • Ability to satisfy applicable background checks, health and safety training, and other employment or payer credentialing requirements.

Behavior Analyst Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in behavior analysis, psychology, education, or a related human-services field.
  • Two or more years of experience supporting adults with I/DD, including experience with complex behavioral, medical, or mental health support needs.
  • Current approval and enrollment to provide Illinois Behavior Intervention & Treatment services or demonstrated ability to complete approval and enrollment promptly.
  • Experience coaching Direct Support Professionals, participating in Human Rights Committee processes, and working across multiple community programs.
