Job summary

ANGELWOOD in Jacksonville, FL seeks a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to lead assessment, BSP development, and oversee behavior support services for individuals with developmental disabilities. You will collaborate with House Managers, Crisis DSPs, and DSPs to ensure person-centered, data-driven interventions that uphold clinical integrity.

You will perform FBAs, create BSPs, supervise staff, monitor progress with data, and adjust plans based on trends.

Qualifications

  • Current BCBA certification in good standing.
  • Master's degree in ABA, Psychology, Education, or a related field.
  • Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities and intensive behaviors preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of ABA principles and evidence-based practices.
  • Pass a Level 2 background screening.
  • Pass Professional Crisis Management.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs) and other evaluations.
  • Develop individualized Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) based on data and best practices.
  • Identify function-based interventions, replacement behaviors, and proactive strategies.
  • Oversee BSP implementation by DSPs and Crisis DSPs for fidelity and effectiveness.
  • Monitor progress using data collection and ongoing evaluation; modify plans as needed.
  • Ensure interventions align with BACB Ethics Code and professional standards.
  • Provide staff training and clinical supervision related to behavior support plans and data collection.
  • Collaborate with House Managers, nurses, therapists, and external providers.
  • Maintain timely clinical documentation and ensure regulatory compliance.

Description
Position Summary

The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is responsible for the assessment, development, implementation, and oversight of behavior support services for individuals with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities, including those with intensive or high-risk behaviors. The BCBA works collaboratively with House Managers, Crisis Direct Support Professionals (Crisis DSPs), and Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to ensure the delivery of effective, person-centered, and data-driven interventions. This role is critical in maintaining clinical integrity, reducing behavioral risks, and improving quality of life for individuals served.

Key Responsibilities
Assessment & Treatment Planning
  • Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs) and other relevant evaluations
  • Develop individualized Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) based on assessment data and best practices
  • Identify function-based interventions, replacement behaviors, and proactive strategies
  • Ensure all plans are person-centered, trauma-informed, and least-restrictive
Behavioral Oversight & Implementation
  • Oversee implementation of BSPs by DSPs and Crisis DSPs to ensure fidelity and effectiveness
  • Monitor individual progress through data collection, analysis, and ongoing evaluation
  • Modify behavior plans as needed based on data trends and clinical judgment
  • Ensure interventions align with ethical and professional standards
Crisis Prevention & Intervention
  • Develop and oversee crisis intervention strategies for individuals with intensive behaviors
  • Ensure alignment with PCM Practitioner Level 2 principles and safe intervention practices
  • Provide guidance and real-time support to staff during high-risk situations when needed
  • Review and analyze incident reports to identify patterns and preventative strategies
Training & Staff Development
  • Train DSPs, Crisis DSPs, and House Managers on behavior support plans, data collection, and intervention strategies
  • Provide ongoing coaching, modeling, and performance feedback to ensure skill development
  • Support staff in developing competency in de-escalation and proactive behavior supports
  • Assist in maintaining staff readiness for crisis management expectations
Collaboration & Communication
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including House Managers, nurses, therapists, and external providers
  • Communicate regularly with families, guardians, and stakeholders regarding progress and recommendations
  • Participate in team meetings, care reviews, and planning sessions
Documentation & Compliance
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, including assessments, behavior plans, and progress notes
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, ethical guidelines, and organizational policies
  • Adhere to the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) Ethics Code
Requirements
Qualifications
  • Current certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in good standing
  • Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or related field
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and intensive behaviors preferred
  • Strong knowledge of applied behavior analysis principles and evidence-based practices
  • Must be able to pass a Level 2 background screening
  • Must be able to pass Professional Crisis Management
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in residential or group home settings
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care and positive behavior supports
  • Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to train and mentor staff across varying experience levels
Work Expectations
  • Ability to work flexible hours to meet the needs of individuals and staff, including occasional evenings or weekends
  • Availability to provide support during crisis situations as needed
  • Regular presence in group home settings to observe, assess, and support staff and individuals
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to observe and respond to behavioral situations in various environments
  • May be required to model or support physical intervention techniques in accordance with training guidelines
