Job summary
Rum River Special Education Cooperative is seeking an Instructional Assistant/ Academic and Behavior Manager to support certified staff in meeting students' instructional goals. You will work one-to-one or in small groups, assist with IEPs, behavior plans, and data documentation, and help create an engaging classroom environment.
Under supervision, you will support discipline, prepare materials, and supervise students during activities and field trips, while contributing to curriculum
Qualifications
- ParaPro or ParaEducator Certification (contingent upon completion after hire)
- Or an Associates (AA) College Degree
- PCA Certification
Responsibilities
- Assist students with academic or behavioral goals, one-to-one or small group
- Support student discipline with positive reinforcement
- Prepare classroom materials including IEP-related accommodations
- Assist with group educational activities and data collection
- Confer with teachers about IEP objectives and modifications
- Assist with observation, recording, and charting behavior
- Assist with crisis intervention and behavior management
- Prepare learning materials and classroom environment
- Assist students with physical needs
- Supervise students during breaks, lunch, and field trips
- Complete data entry and incident reports
- Assist with technology-related instructional activities
- Perform maintenance of instructional materials and supplies
