Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of South Central Kansas is seeking an enthusiastic staff member to supervise and promote after-school and summer programs for children and youth. You will foster positive youth development, encourage participation, and model constructive behavior while ensuring safety and program quality.

The role involves implementing engaging activities, coordinating with staff, and participating in trainings to support a dynamic club environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children.
• Knowledge of youth development.
• Ability to relate well with children, motivate youth and manage behaviors.
• Ability to interact with the public (verbal and written).
• Ability to implement quality programs for youth.
• Flexible, adaptable, and mobile when supervising children in a group setting.
• Organize and supervise members in a safe environment.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Valid Driver’s License preferred.
• Pass background check and fingerprinting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Youth for Success: Create an environment that facilitates positive Youth Development Outcomes.
• Promote program participation and provide guidance and role modeling to youth.
• Deescalate behaviors and maintain age-appropriate discipline for safe, efficient programs.
• Develop and implement programs for youth, monitor quality and safety.
• Lead and supervise members to ensure safe conduct and positive development.
• Communicate effectively with staff, parents and youth; participate in staff and site meetings.
• Attend trainings and professional development opportunities.
• Follow safety procedures for fire, tornado and lockdown.
