Arlington Heights Park District is seeking a CAP Activity Leader to supervise and guide participants in before/after school activities across District 25, 59, and 21 sites in Arlington Heights, IL. The role follows morning and afternoon shifts with extra hours possible when schools are not in session.

The ideal candidate is a high school student or holds a GED, with 1–2 years in childcare or activity leadership, and must pass background checks and TB testing.

Qualifications

• High school student or GED required.
• 1–2 years experience in childcare or supervising children preferred.
• Equivalent education may be considered.
• Able to pass background checks and TB testing.

Responsibilities

• Lead or supervise participants in activities.
• Assist with planning age-appropriate activities.
• Set up and clean up after each activity, game, or craft.
• Prepare and serve snacks, assist with cleanup after snack times.
• Greet participants and parents at arrival and departure.
• Notify CAP Site Director of any problems that may arise.
• Help implement daily activities.

Come join our Recreation Department staff as a CAP Activity Leader! Activity Leaders are responsible for leading and supervising the participants through the activities of the Children at Play before and after school program in the assigned school site within School Districts 25, 59, and 21. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday, with various shifts available in the morning and afternoon. Additional hours may be required when school is not in session or is only in session for half of the day.The target hiring range is $15 per hour.
