AlphaBEST Education, Inc is seeking an Assistant Area Manager in Suffolk, VA. This role partners with the Area Manager to support Site Directors and Group Leaders across multiple school locations, ensuring program quality, safety, and compliance.

You will coach teams, participate in hiring and onboarding, and help translate strategic priorities into daily operations. A strong leader with experience in school-age settings and local travel is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; BA/BS preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification required.
• Leadership and supervision experience preferred.
• Willingness to travel locally (occasional out-of-state travel).

Responsibilities

• Coach Site Directors and Group Leaders through visits and monthly meetings.
• Support program quality, safety, and compliance with Area Manager.
• Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and staff development.
• Conduct observations and provide feedback to improve operations.
• Ensure licensing compliance, proper ratios, and site readiness.
• Provide leadership support across multiple sites as needed.
• Maintain clear communication with staff, families, and partners.
• Translate strategy into action across sites as a trusted extension.

Pay: $22.50

Hours: Full time Monday through Friday

AlphaBEST Education provides extended day, summer, and enrichment programs that are designed to inspire and engage students while they discover and learn beyond the school day in a fun, safe environment.

As an Assistant Area Manager, you'll partner closely with the Area Manager to support Site Directors and Group Leaders across multiple school locations.

We're looking for an early learning professional who:

• Enjoys coaching and supporting a team in a fast-paced, student-centered environment
• Feels confident stepping into leadership and decision-making when needed
• Takes pride in delivering a high-quality, consistent experience for students, families, and school partners
• Communicates clearly, builds trust, and leads with empathy
• Is organized, reliable, and comfortable managing multiple sites and priorities

In this role, you will:

• Support and coach Site Directors and Group Leaders through regular site visits, check-ins, and monthly meetings
• Partner with the Area Manager to help execute priorities that support program quality, safety, and compliance
• Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and ongoing staff development in partnership with Field HR
• Conduct observations and provide feedback to reinforce expectations and strengthen day-to-day operations
• Monitor licensing requirements, ratios, safety practices, and site readiness, escalating concerns as needed
• Step in to support site operations, coverage, and problem-solving when additional leadership support is required
• Help maintain consistent communication with staff, families, and school partners
• Act as a trusted extension of the Area Manager, helping translate strategy into action across sites

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; BA or BS in Business Management, Education, or related field preferred. Master's Degree or higher a plus.
• CPR and First Aid certification required
• Previous experience in a school-age program or teaching setting preferred
• Demonstrated leadership and team supervision experience preferred
• Ability to travel locally and attend company meetings and training sessions (may include occasional out-of-state travel)
