AlphaBEST Education, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Area Manager to partner with the Area Manager and support Site Directors and Group Leaders across multiple school locations in Suffolk, VA. The role focuses on leadership, staff development, and operational excellence to deliver high-quality programs.

You will travel locally, assist with hiring and onboarding, and ensure safety and licensing compliance while maintaining strong communication with families and partners.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; BA/BS preferred; Master’s a plus.
• CPR and First Aid certification required.
• Experience in school-age program or teaching setting preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership and team supervision experience.

Responsibilities

• Coach Site Directors and Group Leaders through visits and monthly meetings.
• Help execute priorities to support program quality, safety, and compliance.
• Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and staff development with HR.
• Provide observations and feedback to reinforce expectations.
• Monitor licensing requirements, ratios, safety practices, and site readiness.
• Fill in for leadership as needed and ensure site operations run smoothly.
• Maintain communication with staff, families, and school partners.
• Translate strategy into action across multiple sites.

Pay: $22.50
Hours: Full time Monday through Friday hours flexible between 6:30am-6pm to attend school programming before and after as needed

As an Assistant Area Manager, you'll partner closely with the Area Manager to support Site Directors and Group Leaders across multiple school locations.

In This Role, You Will

• Support and coach Site Directors and Group Leaders through regular site visits, check-ins, and monthly meetings
• Partner with the Area Manager to help execute priorities that support program quality, safety, and compliance
• Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and ongoing staff development in partnership with Field HR
• Conduct observations and provide feedback to reinforce expectations and strengthen day-to-day operations
• Monitor licensing requirements, ratios, safety practices, and site readiness, escalating concerns as needed
• Step in to support site operations, coverage, and problem-solving when additional leadership support is required
• Help maintain consistent communication with staff, families, and school partners
• Act as a trusted extension of the Area Manager, helping translate strategy into action across sites

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; BA or BS in Business Management, Education, or related field preferred. Master's Degree or higher a plus.
• CPR and First Aid certification required
• Previous experience in a school-age program or teaching setting preferred
• Demonstrated leadership and team supervision experience preferred
• Ability to travel locally and attend company meetings and training sessions (may include occasional out-of-state travel)
