Job summary

YMCA of the Suncoast is seeking a Before and/or After School Staff in Hernando School Age Programs. The role runs Monday–Friday with hours around 6:30am–9:30am and 2:30pm–6:00pm, offering $15.45/hr plus possible incentives.

You will oversee engaging activities, ensure safety, and foster a welcoming environment for children and families in the program. Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and be enrolled in relevant trainings; CPR/First Aid and further certifications are preferred

Qualifications

• Must be able to supervise groups of children and ensure safety.
• Experience with program activities and youth development preferred.
• CPR/First Aid and related trainings required within stated timelines.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a designated group of children to ensure safety at all times.
• Maintain attendance records and verify attendance through face-to-name checks.
• Communicate absences, injuries, and incidents per YMCA policies.
• Use positive discipline and document behavior per protocols.
• Deliver activities supporting academic growth and enrichment.
• Build relationships with children, parents, volunteers, and staff.
