Job summary

YMCA of the Suncoast is hiring for a Before and After School Staff in the Pinellas/Pasco School Age Programs. The role supports engaging activities for children and upholds YMCA safety and community values.

The position offers a $16.00/hr rate with possible incentives, and schedules Monday through Friday, with a flexible shift within program hours from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm. Prior experience with children is preferred and ongoing training is provided.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent, or be enrolled in GED with completion within two years.
• CPR/AED, First Aid certifications preferred.
• Experience working with children is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a designated group of children to ensure safety at all times.
• Maintain attendance records and verify attendance.
• Communicate and document absences, injuries, and incidents per YMCA policies.
• Use positive reinforcement and address misbehavior per protocols.
• Facilitate engaging activities that support academic growth.
• Build relationships with children, parents, volunteers, staff, and school personnel.
• Ensure a safe environment and report suspicious activities.
• Promote a welcoming environment and SMART role modeling.
• Educate members about YMCA services and initiatives.
• Support YMCA strategic initiatives like volunteerism and fundraising.
