Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a School-Age Childcare Assistant for our Before and After School Programs at Frelinghuysen Elementary School in Newton, NJ for the 2026–2027 school year. The role follows the school calendar with morning and/or afternoon shifts, and offers employer-paid childcare as a key benefit.

The position requires a High School Diploma (or equivalent) and may involve responsibilities such as attendance, registration, and staffing, while prioritizing safe, engaging activities

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and/or 1 year of childcare experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Facilitating hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion.
• Providing a safe, healthy, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program.
• Observing state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
• Certain positions may also perform management functions such as accurate attendance records, registration, and staffing.
