Job summary

Iowa Premium, a National Beef Company in Tama, Iowa, is seeking qualified professionals to join our Quality Assurance Team as a Slaughter Food Safety Technician. The role involves monitoring carcasses, processing aids, and performing sampling and pre-operational environmental inspections in a high-demand environment.

This is an hourly, management support position based in Tama, IA. Candidates should be able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays in a safe and supportive team setting.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
• Knowledge of HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points).
• Experience with email communications.
• Microsoft Office (Excel).
• Beef products knowledge is preferred.
• Ability to withstand extreme hot/cold environments.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Monitor carcasses and processing aids used in the slaughter process.
• Check spray nozzle patterns and titrate organic acids.
• Perform visual inspections of product and monitor sanitary dressing.
• Speak with production personnel and assist with sampling.
• Conduct pre-operational environmental inspections.
• Other duties as assigned.
