Job summary

Long Prairie Packing Company, LLC is hiring a Barn Worker at our Long Prairie, MN plant. You will work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment focused on quality and cattle handling for ante-mortem inspection.

Training starts on first shift with a transition to 3rd shift as production demands shift. Required experience includes working with cattle and in environments with varying temperatures, heights, and PPE.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Must live in Minnesota or be willing to relocate. Note: No relocation assistance is provided.
• Must have 6 months related work experience in the last year.
• Ability to work in varied temperatures and around moving equipment with PPE.
• Ability to work extended hours Monday through Saturday with daily overtime; start times vary by production needs.

Responsibilities

• Move cattle from pen to pen for ante-mortem inspection and verify cattle counts per load.
• Initial back of Ante-mortem card verifying cattle count and highlight front of card for accuracy and signature by USDA.
• Separate slow/challenged cattle and transport/move deads; use skid loader to clean pens.
• Perform other related duties as needed to meet the organization’s ongoing needs.
