Job summary

Long Prairie Packing Company, LLC, an American Foods Group Company, is seeking a Barn Worker at our Long Prairie, MN plant. You will move cattle for ante-mortem inspection, verify cattle counts, and ensure all paperwork is properly completed and signed by USDA.

The role requires willingness to work varied shifts, including training prior to third shift, and adherence to Safety, SQF, GMPs, HACCP, SOPs, and food defense protocols.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Must live in Minnesota or be willing to relocate. No relocation assistance.
• Must have 6 months related work experience in the last year.
• Must work in varied temperatures around moving equipment with PPE.
• Must be able to work extended hours Monday–Saturday with overtime.
• Initial training will occur on first shift before transitioning to 3rd shift.
• Must complete training: Safety, SQF, GMPs, HACCP, SOPs, Food defense.

Responsibilities

• Move cattle from pen to pen for ante-mortem inspection, check water troughs, and verify cattle counts per load.
• Initial back of Ante-mortem card verifying cattle count.
• Highlight front of card verifying all info is correct and signed by USDA.
• Separate slow/challenged cattle.
• Transport/move deads; use skid loader to clean pens.
• Duties may include other related tasks as needed.
