Job summary

Texas A&M University in College Station, TX seeks a Manager for the Beef Center Agency to lead budgets, operations, and livestock programs, coordinating with the ASTREC Manager and faculty.

Responsibilities include training staff in animal handling, maintaining inventory and records, managing beef herds (Red Angus, Beefmaster), coordinating feed rations, and ensuring regulatory compliance and facility maintenance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science or equivalent.
• Five years of related experience.
• Experience with animal handling and husbandry is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor budgets and operations plans for Beef Center and department.
• Train and oversee employee(s) in animal handling, care, and husbandry practices.
• Maintain inventory, production, and animal management records.
• Coordinate feed rations and mix feed for research activities.
• Manage Red Angus, Beefmaster, and teaching herds.
• Support faculty programs with livestock resources and logistics.
