Job summary

Vylor, a leader in crop science, invites applicants for Bee Biology Lead to establish and advance our bee research capabilities. This hands-on scientific role designs, conducts, troubleshoots, and interprets experiments while building capabilities to support discovery programs. The ideal candidate holds a Ph.D.

in relevant fields or an M.S. with substantial equivalent experience, and has hands-on experience with honey bees, colony management, and molecular biology approaches.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in entomology or related field with significant relevant research experience, or an M.S. with substantial equivalent experience.
• Hands-on experience maintaining/manipulating honey bees and colonies for research.
• Strong knowledge of honey bee biology, colony organization, and seasonal management.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain honey bee research capabilities (apiary, lab, controlled environments).
• Design and execute experiments on bee biology, health, physiology, development, reproduction, behavior, and responses to variables.
• Develop, validate, and document assays and sampling methods for bees and tissues.
• Apply molecular/genomics/biochemical approaches to understand bee biology and test hypotheses.
• Analyze multi-level data to draw scientific conclusions and inform project leadership.
