Fourth Floor seeks a Basics Designer to join its home textiles design team, focusing on utility bedding products with emphasis on fabric construction, performance, quality and value.

You will work closely with vendors and cross-functional teams to move concepts from idea to production, creating detailed specs and tech packs for woven and knit materials while ensuring functional, comfortable, and durable products.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of woven and knit fabrics, construction, and performance materials.
• Experience creating detailed tech packs and technical product specifications.
• Understanding of functionality, quality, comfort, and value in product development.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to work with vendors and cross-functional teams.

Responsabilités

• Design and develop utility and basic home products, including bed pillows, comforters, mattress pads, mattress toppers, window products, and solid decorative pillows.
• Create detailed technical specifications and tech packs covering fabric construction, materials, dimensions, fills, sewing details, and performance requirements.
• Research market trends, materials, construction techniques, competitive products, and consumer needs.
• Communicate with domestic and international vendors regarding product development, samples, revisions, and approvals.
• Review samples, materials, and product submissions to ensure quality and alignment with specifications.
• Track development timelines, maintain records, and collaborate cross-functionally to move products from concept through production.

Our client, a home textiles company, is seeking a Basics Designer to join their design team. This role focuses on the development of utility and basic bedding products (fabric construction, product performance, quality, and value) rather than fashion-driven prints and patterns.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop utility and basic home products, including bed pillows, comforters, mattress pads, mattress toppers, window products, and solid decorative pillows.
• Create detailed technical specifications and tech packs covering fabric construction, materials, dimensions, fills, sewing details, and performance requirements.
• Research market trends, materials, construction techniques, competitive products, and consumer needs.
• Communicate directly with domestic and international vendors regarding product development, samples, revisions, and approvals.
• Review samples, materials, and product submissions to ensure quality and alignment with specifications.
