Job summary

Baptist Health Floyd is seeking a Bed Placement Specialist to manage real-time patient placement and bed assignment across the hospital, optimizing admissions, throughput, and inpatient capacity.

In this part-time role (48 hours biweekly) with dayshifts, you will coordinate patient flow from ED, OR, and transfers, working closely with nursing, physicians, and ancillary staff in a 24/7 hospital environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Associate’s degree preferred.
• 2 years in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate real-time patient placement and bed assignment to ensure timely admissions and optimal inpatient capacity.
• Collaborate with Emergency Department, Operating Room, and transfer teams; work with nursing units, physicians, and ancillary departments.
• Help reduce patient boarding time and support safe, efficient care transitions in a 24/7 hospital environment.

Seeking Bed Placement Specialist!

Part-time (48 hours biweekly), Dayshift 2- 12-hour shifts/week

This role coordinates patient flow from the Emergency Department, Operating Room, procedural areas, direct admissions, and transfers while working closely with nursing units, physicians, and ancillary departments. The Bed Placement Coordinator is a key operational role in maintaining hospital capacity, reducing patient boarding time, and supporting safe, efficient care transitions in a 24/7 environment.
