Job summary

Oklahoma State University Medical Center in Tulsa is seeking a Facilities Technician to maintain hospital beds, stretchers and related equipment. The role involves safely operating drills, saws and hand tools, and working with nursing units and other departments to keep equipment in good working order.

You will respond to maintenance requests, assist outside vendors as needed, and ensure preventive maintenance assignments are completed by the end of each shift, reporting status to the Facilities

Qualifications

• 1 year minimum experience required.
• Prior healthcare mechanic experience preferred.

Job Description

Reporting to the Facilities Director: This position is responsible for (but not limited to) the repair and maintenance of hospital beds, stretchers and related equipment of the facility. Assist outside vendors and service personnel when necessary or requested. This position will work with every department in OSUMC as well as the Nursing Unit. Must be able to safely and efficiently operate drills, drill presses, saws, grinders and hand tools of all kinds. Must be able to operate various medical / departmental equipment to allow for the general maintenance and upkeep of this equipment. Ensures that the Preventive Maintenance Program (Work Orders) assigned to them are completed or closed out by the end of shift or report to Facilities Director of open status. Perform or may be called upon to assist in the service and or repair of facility related equipment which is unfamiliar. Responds to all trouble calls and maintenance requests for the hospital or facility.
