Green View, established in 1955, is looking for a Bed Maintenance Crew Leader in Springfield, IL. In this role, you will lead a team providing high-quality landscape maintenance for residential and commercial properties. Responsibilities include directing daily operations, applying herbicides safely, and mentoring crew members.

Position overview

As a Bed Maintenance Crew Leader, you'll lead a crew delivering high‑quality landscape bed maintenance across residential and commercial properties. You'll direct daily work, apply and oversee herbicide treatments, and develop the people around you, all while keeping sites looking sharp season after season.

Day‑to‑day responsibilities

• Lead and direct crew on weeding, mulching, edging, and debris removal
• Apply and oversee pre‑ and post‑emergent herbicide treatments in compliance with safety and label guidelines
• Maintain crisp bed edges using manual tools, power edgers, and bed redefiners
• Diagnose weed, pest, and disease issues and develop appropriate treatment plans
• Plan workflows to optimize labor and materials without sacrificing quality
• Train and mentor crew members on technique, efficiency, and safety
• Inspect equipment before each job and ensure safe operation throughout the day
• Support snow and ice removal during the off‑season

What we’re looking for

• Experience in landscape bed maintenance or a related field
• Comfortable leading a crew and holding people accountable to quality standards
• Working knowledge of herbicide application and weed, pest, and disease ID
• IL Department of Agriculture Pesticide Applicators License, or willingness to obtain one, we’ll help you get there
• Valid Illinois driver's license with a clean driving record
• Able to lift up to 80 lbs and work outdoors in all weather
• Available for snow operations as needed
