Job Objectives
Maximize sales and brand awareness by providing exceptional customer care in a friendly, efficient, and professional manner. Offer impartial, personalized advice and expertise regardless of brand and budget. Demonstrate a passion for beauty and wellness, providing inspirational knowledge and solutions for customers' beauty and wellness needs, including mini-makeovers and skincare consultations. Focus on the customers’ total look and model a distinctive customer experience. Oversee and maintain overall beauty department standards.
Job Responsibilities/Tasks
Customer Experience
- Engage customers by greeting and assisting with products and services. Resolve issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
- Share customer care best practices by proactively offering assistance, asking questions to identify needs, and informing customers of options.
- Greet, listen, and engage to identify needs, inform customers of suitable products/services, and provide warm transfers when necessary.
- Provide expertise in product demonstrations and consultations using tools like the Skin Hydrometer and tablet.
- Lead and deliver in-store events to promote brand awareness and loyalty.
- Build genuine relationships with customers and provide authentic closure of interactions.
- Utilize omni-channel solutions to enhance engagement.
- Locate products in other stores or online if unavailable locally.
Operations
- Achieve or exceed sales goals by assisting customers and modeling exceptional care.
- Review beauty business performance regularly in partnership with store leadership.
- Focus on link-selling and up-selling, showing sale items and complementary products.
- Use testers and samples to demonstrate products and leverage promotional items.
- Maintain testers according to hygiene standards and keep the department organized.
- Implement asset protection procedures to minimize profit loss.
- Process sales transactions accurately.
- Participate in meetings about programs, promotions, and new launches.
- Maintain knowledge of store systems and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with laws regarding regulated products.
- Follow all policies and foster respectful coworker relationships.
- Complete special assignments as needed.
Training & Personal Development
- Monitor personal performance, set high standards, stay updated on industry trends, and learn from others.
- Attend training sessions and complete e-learning modules.
- Maintain a professional appearance aligned with company guidelines.
- Share behaviors and provide training to new team members.
- Collaborate with leadership to review goals and enhance product knowledge.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED and 1+ year retail sales experience meeting sales goals or selling beauty/cosmetic products.
- Ability to develop strategies independently and escalate issues when needed.
- Knowledge of beauty products and brands.
- Experience in relationship building within a team.
- Basic PC/tablet skills.
- Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Fluent in English (except in Puerto Rico).
- Licensure in Cosmetology or Esthetician license.
