Job Objectives
Maximize sales and brand awareness by providing exceptional customer care in a friendly, efficient, and professional manner. Offer impartial, personalized expertise and advice regardless of brand and budget. Demonstrate a passion for beauty and wellness, providing inspirational beauty knowledge and solutions for customers' beauty and wellness needs, including mini-makeovers and skincare consultations, with an emphasis on the customer's total look. Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience. Oversee and maintain overall beauty department standards.
Job Responsibilities/Tasks
Customer Experience
- Engage customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolve issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
- Share customer care best practices by proactively offering assistance, asking questions to determine needs, and informing customers of options.
- Greet, listen, and engage customers to identify needs, inform them of appropriate products/services, and provide warm transfers when necessary.
- Provide expertise in product demonstrations and consultations using tools like the Skin Hydrometer and tablet.
- Lead and deliver in-store events to promote brand awareness and loyalty.
- Build relationships with customers, providing authentic closure and fostering ongoing relationships.
- Engage with omni-channel solutions to enhance customer experience.
- Locate products in other stores or online if unavailable locally.
Operations
- Achieve or exceed sales goals by assisting customers and modeling exceptional care.
- Review beauty business performance regularly with store leadership.
- Focus on link-selling and up-selling, showing sale items and complementary products.
- Use testers and samples to demonstrate product application and leverage promotional programs.
- Maintain hygiene standards and keep the department clean and organized.
- Implement asset protection procedures to minimize profit loss.
- Process sales transactions accurately.
- Participate in meetings and training related to programs, promotions, and new products.
- Ensure compliance with laws regarding regulated products.
- Follow all company policies and maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.
- Complete special assignments as needed.
Training & Personal Development
- Monitor own performance, set high standards, stay updated on industry trends, and learn from others.
- Attend meetings, seminars, and training, sharing knowledge with the team.
- Complete e-learning modules and maintain a professional appearance.
- Provide training and support to new Beauty and Wellness Consultants.
- Collaborate with Store Leadership to review goals and maintain product knowledge.

Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED and at least one year of retail sales experience meeting sales goals, or experience in selling beauty/cosmetic products and providing customer care.
- Ability to develop solutions independently and escalate issues when necessary.
- Knowledge of beauty products and brands.
- Experience building relationships within a team.
- Basic PC/tablet skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking). (Except in Puerto Rico)
Preferred Qualifications
- Licensure in Cosmetology or Esthetician.
- Experience with makeup application, providing makeovers, and selling Prestige brands.
- Degree from Beauty School or externship experience.
