Job summary

UC San Diego is seeking a Program Coordinator to support the BEACON Research Team within the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine. You will coordinate projects, analyze data, and collaborate with internal and external partners to advance research programs.

The role requires experience in multidisciplinary research environments, strong communication skills, and a solid understanding of cardiovascular research. Willingness to work across various hours and locations as needed by the department.

Qualifications

• Seven years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in related area plus three years of related experience/training.
• Demonstrated experience participating in a collaborative multidisciplinary research team or providing administrative support in major research centers.
• Strong knowledge of cardiovascular research.
• Strong ability to work collaboratively with internal and external peers and managers. Strong ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience interfacing with medical professional societies and patient advocacy groups
• Experience interfacing with physician scientists in clinical research
• Knowledge of common organization- or research-specific and other computer application programs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.
• Analytical / problem-solving skills.
• Strong skills in analyzing, researching and synthesizing large amounts of data for preparing sound and relevant proposals / analyses.
• Ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.
• Strong ability to think creatively and independently on concepts requiring advanced analytical skills.
• Strong policy analysis techniques.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a program coordinator for UC San Diego BEACON Research Team within the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine.
• Research, analyze and develop solutions to a wide range of issues related to policies, programs and proposals.
• Collaborate with internal and external entities on project development, implementation and advancement.
• Develop new programs, policies or procedures for potential implementation.
