Job summary

HEI Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Beverage Server at Embassy Suites Virginia Beach Oceanfront Resort to deliver hospitable guest experiences. You will stock and garnish beverages, greet guests, and execute drink orders with accuracy while adhering to all alcohol-service policies.

Qualifications

• Hotel experience preferred.
• Must communicate well with guests.
• Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages.
• Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, total all other charges, and understand portion sizes.
• Sufficient manual dexterity to garnish, handle glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks, and retrieve stock.
• Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items and specials.
• Ability to operate POS procedures and close out a check with or without accommodation.
• Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods of time with or without accommodation.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, customers, and patrons.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintains proper and adequate bar setup daily, stocking beer, wine, spirits, and consumables based on projections.
• Stock, cut, and store fresh fruit, garnishes, juices, and perishables daily to ensure quality.
• Greet guests, promote and document drink orders; mix and present drinks using standard recipes with portion control.
• Comply with all state, federal and corporate requirements for serving alcohol.
• Enter orders into POS, generate checks, and balance beverage service with accountability.
• Handle cash, verify charges, and balance cash drops; secure equipment and deposits.
• Attend the workplace per schedule and perform other duties as assigned.
