Job summary

Mauna Kea Resort is seeking a Beach Attendant/Waterman to maintain beach and lawn areas with a focus on safety and guest service. The role includes setting up towels, lounges, and equipment, greeting guests, and coordinating with lifeguards as needed to ensure a secure and enjoyable beach environment.

The ideal candidate will be a strong swimmer with USLA Lifeguard certification or equivalent experience, plus First Aid/CPR certification.

Qualifications

• USLA Lifeguard Certification required or strong lifeguard background.
• First Aid and CPR certification required; AED certification preferred.
• Candidate must be a strong swimmer with safety-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

• Maintain beach and lawn area order, cleanliness, and safety.
• Greet and assist guests with beach setup and towels.
• Oversee lifeguard duties and respond to emergencies per hotel procedures.
• Instruct guests on proper use of beach equipment and safety rules.
• Inform guests about Ocean Awareness Program and resort services.
• Assist with water activities equipment and guest services as needed.
• Prepare and break down beach setups at start and end of shifts.
• Communicate effectively with resort staff and rescue personnel.
