Job summary

Mauna Kea Resort is seeking a Beach Attendant/Waterman (Band 1U) to maintain the beach and lawn areas, greet guests, and ensure safety according to resort standards. You will assist with towel service, equipment setup, and ocean awareness programs while delivering warm, attentive service.

This role may include lifeguard duties for USLA-certified staff, water activity support, and the ability to respond to emergencies.

Qualifications

• Must be a strong swimmer and able to handle ocean conditions.
• USLA Lifeguard certification or willingness to obtain within 6–12 months.
• First Aid/CPR/AED and Red Cross Lifeguard certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect beach area daily for safety hazards and equipment.
• Set up beach/lawn furniture and towels for guests.
• Greet guests warmly and provide assistance per hotel standards.
• Inform guests about Ocean Awareness Program and services.
• Respond to emergencies and assist with water activities as needed.
