Job summary

Town of Wrightsville Beach is seeking an Environmental Services Maintenance Technician to perform litter removal, debris clearance in storm drains, and support to the Environmental Services Division within Public Works.

The role requires ability to work in all weather, follow safety regulations, and may involve leadership duties as a backup team leader. Applicants should be prepared for physical outdoor work and routine manual tasks.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent is required.
• OSHA safety requirements knowledge is required.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to lead environmental services workers when needed.

Responsibilities

• Remove litter from public access areas, streets, beach accesses and beach strand as directed.
• Remove sand from public parking areas and access areas.
• Ensure storm drains are clear of debris.
• Pickup town recycle receptacles.
• Serve as backup team leader when needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Be available to assist during storms or hazardous conditions.
