Job summary

Fairmont Orchid on Hawaiʻi Island is seeking a Winter Recreation Attendant II to deliver warm, locally inspired service to guests at the Beach and Pool of a luxury resort. You will engage guests, set up lounges and equipment, uphold cleanliness, and promote wellness offerings in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates communicate fluently in English, share Hawaiian culture, and possess a valid driver’s license with Lifeguard/First Aid/CPR certifications as a plus.

Qualifications

• Share Hawaiian culture, stories and lifestyle with guests in an engaging manner.
• Remain calm and courteous while focusing on guest needs.
• Good reading, writing and oral proficiency in English.
• Ability to speak other languages is advantageous (including ʻOlelo Hawaiʻi).
• Work cohesively as part of a team.
• Be detail-oriented and self-motivated with energy.
• Provide TB clearance to work in Recreation.
• Have a valid driver’s license.
• Additional certifications in recreation (lifeguarding, first aid, CPR, AED) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Actively engage with guests and assist in all guest needs (towels, lounge setup, equipment).
• Maintain beach/pool cleanliness and debris removal throughout the day.
• Provide warm, personal service in a luxury, fast-paced environment.
• Create positive first impressions through setup and ambiance control.
• Maintain knowledge of wellness, recreation services and hotel features.
• Upsell wellness and recreation offers to maximize revenue.
• Perform opening/closing duties and set up beach/pool per standards.
• Know hotel fire and life safety procedures.
• Maintain a professional appearance and hygiene at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
