  • Meet enrollment requirements as a UT student in good standing (Summer: at least one 3-hour course; Fall/Spring: at least nine semester hours).

Purpose

The Graduate Assistant will provide support to the Bridging Disciplines Programs (BDP) office. The BDPs support students in becoming versatile thinkers whoare able tobring the perspectives, tools, and skills ofmultiplesdisciplines to bear on complex issues and questions. The programs are designed to teach students disciplinary and interdisciplinary awareness, integrative thinking and hands-on application of knowledge and skills, and individual reflection and self-assessment. Students who successfully complete the program requirements earn a certificate upon graduation.

Responsibilities

The Graduate Assistant willassistthe Bridging Disciplines Programs with the following projects and tasks:

  • Provide written and verbal feedback on student essays

  • Score student essays using a rubric

  • Deliver information sessions for prospective students

  • Assistwith outreach and recruitment

  • Assistin preparing surveys and in organizing data

Required Qualifications

  • Ability tomaintainconfidentiality with student records and information

  • Meet enrollment requirements as a UT student in good standing (Summer: must be enrolled for at least one three-hour course during any summer session; Fall and Spring: must be enrolled for at least nine semester hours of coursework)

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Interest in experiential and/or interdisciplinary learning preferred

  • Some knowledge of academic advising, counseling skills, and/or student development theory preferred

Salary Range

$20.00 per hour

Working Conditions
  • Work to be performed in typical office environment .

  • Office Location: CRB 23 (Carothers Dorm, ground floor)

  • 20 hours per week, hybrid schedule is possible

  • Continuation into Spring semester preferred
