Intertek is seeking a Manager - Extractable/Leachables in Whitehouse, NJ to lead advanced E&L initiatives within the Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals team. The role focuses on strategy, collaboration across sites and countries, and delivering high-impact programs in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Analytical Chemistry with 10+ years of technical experience in extractable and leachable industries.
• Expertise in pharmaceutical packaging extractable and leachables, biocompatibility, chemical characterization, PERLs, and single-use systems.
• Experience working in cross-functional teams, matrix organizations, and driving business strategy.
• Proven ability to lead projects from concept to completion and manage commercial aspects.
• Comfort with ambiguity, change, and travel as needed.

What are we looking for?

The Manager - Extractable/Leachables is responsible for developing and launching complex and strategic initiatives. Technical innovation specific to extractable and leachable is expected to retain and expand stakeholder relationships for one or more divisions and solicit new business from prospective customers.

This position will travel at least 15% of the time.

What you’ll do:

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES –

• Support the implementation and coordination of E&L within global pharmaceutical business line development initiatives.
• Recommend possible acquisition targets.
• Collaborate with Sites, Countries and Business Lines to develop business strategy and plans.
• Set strategic objectives for sites / countries including growth rates, facility expansion, acquisition goals, and margin and profitability benchmarks.
• Performing team technical assessment and evaluations and improve technical competence of staff.
• Develop necessary business processes and systems to enable pioneering, high-impact initiatives.
• Set framework and recommend resources to sites / countries needed to implement strategies.
• Establish and support Global Key Account initiatives and evaluate and support project and program objectives.
• Have close communications with the relevant Country Managing Director and/or Country Business Line Manager and Site Leadership.
• Use personal and professional network to link ideas to people that might not otherwise interact across Intertek and or its relevant stakeholders.
• Collaborate with all the stakeholders to define and execute the initiative.
• Act as champion and change agent in leading the organizational changes required to create and sustain new capabilities and associated commercial propositions.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Analytical Chemistry 10 years minimum technical experience including education in extractable and leachable industries
• Areas of expertise:
  • Pharmaceutical packaging extractable and leachables
  • Biocompatibility
  • Chemical Characterization (including biodegradable)
  • PERLs (Process equipment related leachables)
  • Single use systems
• Experience working in cross-functional teams and influencing a matrix organization, operating and influencing effectively across the organization and within complex contexts.
• Experience in working on novel projects and proven ability to bring ideas from conception to completion.
• Experience in showing commercial sense, contract structuring and negotiation, and business strategy development.
• Proven experience in helping other people turn their ideas into reality; work with multiple fluid team structures which requires trust and integrity
• Be comfortable with ambiguity and thrive on change

Preferred Requirements And Qualifications

• PhD in Analytical Chemistry with focus on mass spectrometry
