Job summary

Intertek, a leading quality and safety solutions provider, seeks a Manager - Extractable/Leachables in Whitehouse, NJ. This role leads E&L initiatives, builds stakeholder relationships, and drives strategic projects across global pharmaceutical lines.

15% travel is expected; bonus eligible with comprehensive benefits. The successful candidate will oversee complex programs, guide technical teams, and shape business strategy while ensuring rigorous quality and safety standards in packaging

Qualifications

• PhD in Analytical Chemistry with focus on mass spectrometry; 10 years minimum technical experience including education in extractable and leachable industries.
• Areas of expertise: Pharmaceutical packaging extractable and leachables; Biocompatibility; Chemical Characterization; PERLs; Single use systems.
• Experience in cross-functional teams and influencing a matrix organization; ability to influence across the organization.
• Experience in novel projects and bringing ideas from conception to completion.
• Experience in commercial sense, contract structuring and negotiation, and business strategy development.
• Be comfortable with ambiguity and thrive on change; travel at least 15% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation and coordination of E&L within global pharmaceutical business line development initiatives.
• Recommend possible acquisition targets.
• Collaborate with Sites, Countries and Business Lines to develop business strategy and plans.
• Set strategic objectives for sites / countries including growth rates, facility expansion, acquisition goals, and margin and profitability benchmarks.
• Performing team technical assessment and evaluations and improve technical competence of staff.
• Develop necessary business processes and systems to enable pioneering, high-impact initiatives.
• Set framework and recommend resources to sites / countries needed to implement strategies.
• Establish and support Global Key Account initiatives and evaluate and support project and program objectives.
• Have close communications with the relevant Country Managing Director and/or Country Business Line Manager and Site Leadership.
• Use personal and professional network to link ideas to people that might not otherwise interact across Intertek and its stakeholders.
• Collaborate with all the stakeholders to define and execute the initiative.
• Act as champion and change agent in leading organizational changes to create and sustain new capabilities and commercial propositions.

What are we looking for?

The Manager - Extractable/Leachables is responsible for developing and launching complex and strategic initiatives. Technical innovation specific to extractable and leachable is expected to retain and expand stakeholder relationships for one or more divisions and solicit new business from prospective customers.

This position will travel at least 15% of the time.

Salary & Benefits Information

The base wage or salary range for this position is $180,000-190,000. Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons. This position is bonus eligible.

What you’ll do:

• Support the implementation and coordination of E&L within global pharmaceutical business line development initiatives.
