Job summary

Trescal, the world leader in calibration services, seeks a Business Development Manager to grow our presence in the manufacturing and process industries, including Life Sciences, Pharmaceuticals, Biotechnology, and Aerospace. You will identify and secure new business opportunities while ensuring compliance with FDA, ISO 17025, GMP, and GxP standards.

You will lead RFQ/RFP responses, manage multi-site programs, and collaborate across operations, quality, and sales to exceed revenue targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, or a related field is required.
• Minimum 3+ years’ experience in business development or sales within calibration, metrology, testing, validation services, or similar.
• Proven track record selling professional services into manufacturing and regulated industries (Life Sciences, Aerospace, etc.).
• Strong understanding of quality management systems and regulatory compliance (ISO 17025, ISO 9001, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, GMP).
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder relationship-building skills.
• Proficiency with CRM tools and MS Office; willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Growth: Develop new business opportunities across assigned regions with focus on regulated sectors.
• Client Engagement: Advise customers on calibration and asset management solutions meeting regulatory requirements.
• Opportunity Management: Build and manage a CRM pipeline from contact to closure aligning with revenue targets.
• RFQ / RFP Leadership: Lead responses with operations and quality teams to meet client specs.
• Contract Implementation: Roll out new programs and multi-site service agreements for key clients.
• Market Intelligence: Monitor market conditions and competitive activity for leadership.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with lab operations, quality, and project management to deliver compliant services.
• Compliance Awareness: Maintain knowledge of FDA, ISO, and cGMP/GxP impacts on calibration and qualification processes.
