Job summary

Skillful Steps ABA in Maryland is seeking a BCBA to develop and oversee individualized treatment plans and provide direct ABA services in home, school, or community settings.

You will supervise RBTs, analyze data, and collaborate with families to align priorities, while upholding assent-based, trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming practice. Current BCBA certification and state licensure are required, with a Master’s degree in a related field.

Qualifications

• Current BCBA certification.
• Active state licensure, where applicable.
• Master's degree in behavior analysis, psychology, education, or related field.
• Experience providing ABA services to children and adolescents.
• Experience supervising or working with RBTs preferred.
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and organizational skills.
• Commitment to neurodiversity-affirming, assent-based, and trauma-informed practice.
• Consistent availability and reliable follow-through on a weekly schedule.
• Reliable transportation for in-person services.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee individualized treatment plans based on each learner’s strengths, needs, preferences, and goals.
• Provide direct ABA services and clinical support in the home, school, and/or community.
• Conduct assessments, analyze data, and make ongoing clinical decisions based on learner progress.
• Provide supervision, training, and ongoing clinical support to RBTs.
• Collaborate with RBTs on skill acquisition programming and function-based support strategies.
• Support and expand each learner’s access to communication across all modalities.
• Incorporate learner assent, autonomy, preferences, and interests into treatment planning.
• Recognize signs of dysregulation and adjust treatment accordingly.
• Communicate regularly with caregivers and ensure active participation.
• Create and oversee teaching materials and programming tailored to learner needs.
• Monitor treatment fidelity and provide feedback to RBTs.
• Maintain clinical documentation using electronic systems (CentralReach).
• Collaborate with families and other providers to promote consistent outcomes.
• Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical standards.
• Participate in ongoing training including assent-based, trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming practice.
