Supervises: Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), Behavior Technicians (BTs), BCBA Trainees (as assigned)
Work Location: Clinic, Home, School, and Community in -------------- region

Position Summary

The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is responsible for the assessment, development, implementation, supervision, and evaluation of medically necessary Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services. The BCBA ensures services are clinically appropriate, ethically delivered, data-driven, and compliant with BACB standards, payer requirements, and organizational policies.

Position Purpose

To improve client outcomes through evidence-based ABA services while providing clinical supervision, caregiver training, treatment modifications, and ongoing evaluation of client progress.

Essential Functions
  • Conduct assessments and reassessments.
  • Develop and update treatment plans, FBAs, and Behavior Intervention Plans.
  • Provide supervision to BTs and RBTs in accordance with payer and BACB requirements.
  • Provide caregiver training and collaboration.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret clinical data.
  • Modify treatment protocols based on clinical need and data.
  • Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation.
  • Coordinate care with interdisciplinary providers when appropriate.
  • Ensure compliance with BACB Ethics Code and payer requirements.
Primary Responsibilities
Clinical Services
  • Complete comprehensive assessments and reassessments.
  • Develop individualized goals and treatment recommendations.

Supervision
  • Provide direct supervision to assigned BTs/RBTs.
  • Monitor treatment fidelity and provide performance feedback.
  • Document supervision in accordance with payer requirements.
Caregiver Training
  • Conduct caregiver training sessions.
  • Develop strategies to promote generalization and caregiver implementation.
Documentation & Compliance
  • Complete assessment reports, treatment plans, supervision notes, parent training notes, and clinical documentation within required timelines.
  • Respond to audit feedback and documentation revisions.
  • Support authorization requests and medical necessity documentation.
Daily Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical supervision.
  • Review client data.
  • Communicate with caregivers and staff.
  • Complete documentation within required timelines.
Weekly Responsibilities
  • Analyze progress.
  • Modify treatment as indicated.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary providers.
  • Attend team meetings.
Monthly Responsibilities
  • Review authorization timelines.
  • Evaluate treatment effectiveness.
  • Participate in peer review and quality initiatives.
Quarterly Responsibilities
  • Complete reassessments as required.
  • Review caseload outcomes.
  • Participate in competency development.
Annual Responsibilities
  • Maintain BCBA certification and licensure.
  • Complete required CEUs and annual training.
Decision-Making Authority

Authorized to make clinical treatment recommendations, modify behavior analytic procedures based on data, supervise assigned technicians, and recommend service levels within organizational and payer guidelines.

Required Qualifications
  • Master's degree in behavior analysis, psychology, education, or related field.
  • Current BCBA certification in good standing.
  • Current state licensure where required.
  • Successful completion of background screening.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience providing ABA services across home, clinic, school, and community settings.
  • Experience with CentralReach or similar electronic medical record.
  • Experience with commercial and Medicaid payer documentation.

Physical Requirements
