Job summary

Cole Management & Engineering seeks a Utility Coordinator to manage relocations, protect-in-place efforts, and interagency coordination on transportation projects in the San Francisco Bay Area. The role acts as the liaison among project teams, utility owners, contractors, and public agencies to identify and resolve utility conflicts early.

Required are strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder relations skills, with experience on Caltrans/public agency projects and a valid CA

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in utility coordination on public works or transportation projects in California.
• Strong working knowledge of Caltrans Right of Way and utility relocation procedures.
• Experience coordinating with utility owners like PG&E, AT&T, Comcast and others.
• Ability to read and interpret civil/utility plans and as-builts.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with utility owners to identify facilities and resolve conflicts.
• Manage relocation and protect-in-place processes from potholing through construction.
• Review plans to identify conflicts and maintain conflict matrices.
• Facilitate coordination meetings and maintain stakeholder communications.
• Process utility agreements, permits, and reimbursement documentation.
• Coordinate Joint Trench activities and verify installations meet specs.
• Review USA tickets and ensure compliance with state law.
• Support schedule analysis and risk assessment.
• Maintain detailed coordination records and status reports.
