Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking a Propulsion Plant Integration Engineer to shape the next-generation battleship propulsion design. You will work at the intersection of ship design, plant engineering, operations, and Navy decision-making to integrate propulsion systems and refine operational concepts.

The role emphasizes system-level thinking, cross-functional collaboration, and technical leadership, with hands-on analysis and written recommendations across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field with relevant experience.
• Master's or Doctorate preferred with related engineering background.
• Experience in naval propulsion or reactor operations is valuable.

Responsibilities

• Participate in conceptual studies informing Navy decisions on propulsion features and risks.
• Support integration of battleship systems into the propulsion plant.
• Develop concepts of operation for a single plant surface combatant.
• Validate design compliance and resolve non-conformances.
• Mentor team and coordinate with design yards and Navy reps.
