Job summary

Naval Nuclear Laboratory in the United States seeks a Propulsion Plant Integration Engineer to help bring a first-of-a-kind battleship propulsion design to life. This hands-on, systems-level role sits at the intersection of ship design, plant engineering, operations, and Navy decision-making.

You will analyze concepts, support integration of battleship systems into the propulsion plant, develop operations concepts, and coordinate with design yards, BPMI, and Navy representatives to align

Qualifications

• Bachelor, Master, or Doctorate in a related technical, engineering, or science field with minimum years of relevant experience or current leadership role at the Company.

Responsibilities

• Participate in conceptual studies to inform Navy decision-making on propulsion features, tradeoffs, and risks.
• Support integration of battleship-specific systems into the propulsion plant.
• Develop concepts of operation for a single plant surface combatant.
• Validate design compliance with ship requirements and resolve non-conformances.
• Mentor team and coordinate with design yards, BPMI, and Navy representatives.
• Perform system analyses to evaluate design decisions and impacts.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines for seamless integration.
• Draft written technical recommendations and review others' proposals.
