Job summary

Interstate Batteries in Altoona, IA is seeking a Warehouse Team Member I to accurately complete distribution tasks using RF scanning, forklifts, and WMS systems. You will handle receiving, picking, packing and shipping, while maintaining safety and inventory accuracy.

No formal experience required; basic computer skills and a strong attention to detail are valued. This position may require lifting up to 50 lbs and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Written, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills.
• No experience required. Experience in warehouse operations preferred - including RF/HH equipment, forklift, electric pallet jack and stretch-wrap machine preferably in warehouse environment.
• Working knowledge of computers or ability to learn applicable systems required.
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Sense of urgency and well organized.

Responsibilities

• Accurately process system and manual transactions (receiving, transfer, pick, pack, ship)
• Load and unload batteries
• Restock batteries
• Charge, clean, date and rewrap rotations
• Charge, test, clean, and date adjustment batteries
• Maintain a safe and clean warehouse environment
• Accurately maintain warehouse reporting and claims
• Operate a forklift and maintain a current certification
• Tag pallets (for transfer, pick, pack, ship)
• General warehousing duties (restocking shelves and housekeeping of assigned areas)
• Ability to multi-task and/or quickly transition from one function/task to the next function/task
• Other warehouse duties as assigned by warehouse distributor management
• Inventory all aspects
• Help and support front office as needed.
