Job summary

SpaceX in Hawthorne, CA is seeking a Development Test Engineer, Battery (Starship Electronics) to characterize and qualify battery cell technologies for our next generation vehicles. You will identify operating environments and attempt to push cells beyond their rated capabilities through a variety of tests, from electrical impedance spectroscopy to thermal runaway investigations.

Responsibilities include creating test stand concepts, fabrication drawings, wiring schematics and instrumentation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, or an engineering discipline.
• 1+ years of electronic hardware or software development experience.
• 1+ years programming with Python, MATLAB, or Embedded C/C++.

Responsibilities

• Create test stand concepts, fabrication drawings, wiring schematics, and instrumentation lists.
• Write automation and analysis software to collect and interpret data from the setups.
• Supervise the integration of test stands including fabrication and data/control systems.
• Operate test stands with meticulous attention to detail.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and test lab teams to drive innovation.
