Job summary

Albertsons is seeking a Battery Maintenance Technician to service and maintain the battery fleet in our Melrose Park facility. Responsibilities include changing batteries for production and sanitation, performing preventive maintenance, and repairing batteries, cables, and charging equipment.

The role requires manual dexterity, ability to read hazardous labeling, and basic computer skills for log entries and CMMS work orders.

Qualifications

• Must be able to operate hand and power tools as part of battery maintenance and repair.
• DOT license required to operate company vehicles.
• Strong manual dexterity, balance and coordination for tasks at various heights.
• Ability to read and interpret labeling on hazardous materials and equipment.
• Familiarity with CMMS or computer-based work orders preferred.

Responsibilities

• Change batteries as needed for production, sanitation and maintenance.
• Perform preventative maintenance on batteries as scheduled.
• Repair batteries including cables, connectors, cells and cases.
• Perform minor repairs to charging equipment as needed.
• Maintain a 5S work environment at all times.
• Maintain accurate battery logs and documentation.
• Assist with repairs of Fire Protection/Suppression systems as required.
• Other duties assigned by management.
