Job summary

Saft in Valdosta seeks a Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead the design and engineering of batteries and battery systems across rail, aviation, and telecom markets. You will manage the Valdosta team and coordinate with cell electrochemical teams to deliver reliable, cost-effective solutions.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering with 10–15 years in product design in aviation or rail, and at least 5 years in leadership of mechanical engineers in battery design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 10–15 years of product design experience in Aviation or Rail markets.
• At least 5 years leadingMechanical Engineers in battery design.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and engineering management for batteries and battery systems.
• Manage and mentor the Valdosta mechanical engineering team.
• Coordinate with electrochemical engineering to design new cells and battery systems.
• Support production, quality, and manufacturing with issue resolution and changes.
• Maintain CAD drawings in Windchill/PLM and oversee documentation.
