Job summary

Saft America, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead the mechanical design and engineering management for batteries and battery systems across rail, aviation, and telecom markets.

You will guide the team in design, qualification, and CAD/PLM practices to meet cost and performance targets. The role requires a mechanical engineering degree with 10–15 years of product design experience in aviation or rail, plus 5+ years in people leadership for battery systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and 10–15 years in product design in aviation or rail.
• At least 5 years leading mechanical engineers in battery and battery system design.
• Familiarity with Windchill and Creo; compliance with standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical activities of mechanical team (battery design / component qualification).
• Develop new products in line with strategic plan and marketing.
• Contribute to site cost reduction and technical issue resolution across segments.
• Support production, QA, and other sites with technical guidance.
• Maintain CAD 2D/3D Creo drawings in Windchill PLM; manage design rules.
• Motivate the engineering team and ensure design rules for reliable accumulators.
