Job summary

Saft seeks a Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead battery design and engineering for multiple industries, including Rail, Aviation, and Telecom. You will manage a team, drive program schedules, and coordinate with electrochemical/QA teams to resolve issues while maintaining documentation in Windchill PLM.

The role requires a Mechanical Engineering degree and 10-15 years in product design for aviation or rail, plus 5+ years of leadership in battery systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10-15 years of product design experience in Aviation or Rail markets.
  • At least 5 years leading and managing Mechanical Engineers in the design of batteries and battery systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical team (battery design / component qualification).
  • Develop new products aligned with strategic plan and marketing.
  • Contribute to site cost reduction plan.
  • Support Railway, Aviation, and ISD segments on technical issues.
  • Provide production and quality support to other sites (Zhuhai, Bangalore, Bordeaux, Valdosta).
  • Maintain all Creo drawings in Windchill PLM tool.
