Job summary

Canadian Solar is seeking a Project Engineer to support utility-scale battery energy storage projects across North America. You will coordinate engineering activities from design through commissioning, collaborating with internal teams, consultants, suppliers, EPC contractors, and other stakeholders.

This role requires an Electrical Engineering background, at least two years in project or systems engineering, and a solid understanding of MV/LV electrical systems.

Qualifications

• Educational background in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• At least two years of project engineering or related technical experience.
• Understanding of low- and medium-voltage electrical systems and protective coordination.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% within Canada/USA.
• Experience with utility-scale battery energy storage or renewable projects is a plus.
• Knowledge of balance-of-plant systems (UPS, HVAC, fire, etc.) is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate technical execution from design development through construction and commissioning.
• Act as a technical contact for assigned projects and escalate complex issues.
• Manage technical scope, schedules, stakeholders, and deliverables.
• Develop and review technical specifications; support vendor qualification and testing.
• Support procurement by preparing technical requirements and Q&A logs.
• Coordinate external engineering consultants and design-review meetings.
• Review designs and documentation, identify gaps, and track resolutions.
• Conduct site visits to verify construction aligns with designs and quality expectations.
• Provide technical support during construction and commissioning; resolve issues.
