Job summary

Interstate Batteries is seeking a Sales Associate to deliver fast, friendly service in a busy retail setting. You will greet customers, assess needs, explain product benefits, and drive sales while maintaining an organized, safe, and clean store environment.

You will also assist with deliveries and perform basic battery testing/installation as required, ensuring accurate transactions and a positive customer experience. This role supports team sales goals and requires flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Retail or customer service experience is preferred.
• Delivery driving experience is preferred.
• Clean driver's record and ability to meet driver qualifications.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Basic math skills and comfort handling cash transactions.
• Pre-employment background check may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide fast, friendly service by engaging customers and assessing needs.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked sales floor.
• Greet customers with a positive attitude and smile.
• Explain product features and benefits clearly to customers.
• Drive sales by recommending suitable options and add-ons.
• Process transactions accurately using the POS system.
• Assist with inventory, receiving, stocking and merchandising.
• Perform basic car battery testing and installation when needed.
• Complete local deliveries using company vehicle per guidelines.
