Job summary

Interstate Batteries in Conroe, TX seeks a Sales Associate to provide fast, friendly service, assess customer needs, stock the floor, and assist with deliveries and battery testing/installation. You’ll handle cash at the POS, maintain product knowledge, and help customers choose the right battery options.

The role requires a flexible schedule, ability to lift 25–50 lbs, and comfort working in a retail and stockroom setting.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous retail or customer service experience preferred but not required.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Basic math skills and comfort handling cash transactions.
• Valid driver’s license (if deliveries are required).
• Regular attendance is required.
• Ability to work Saturdays and some holidays.

Responsibilities

• Accurately process transactions and handle cash and card payments via a Point of Sale System.
• Assist with inventory tasks, including receiving, stocking, and organizing merchandise.
• Keep the store clean, well‑stocked, and easy to shop.
• Perform basic battery testing and installation, including automotive batteries.
• Complete local deliveries using a company vehicle, as needed.
• Ability to lift and carry items (typically 25–50 lbs).
• Comfortable working in a retail and stockroom environment.

Purpose Of Job

The Sales Associate provides fast and friendly service by actively seeking out customers to assess their needs and provide assistance. This role maintains the condition of the sales floor, ensuring that it is clean and shoppable. They will also make deliveries and test/install car batteries.

Work Environment

• Position requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, twisting, reaching, stooping, climbing, kneeling, and lifting.
• Be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs, without assistance and occasionally lifting up to 75lbs
• Work involves some irregularities and difficulties with repetitive and varied tasks.
• Primarily retail store setting, however, frequently exposed to dirt, dust, fumes, temperature extremes, dampness and battery acid as is normal to warehouse environment in this business
• Stress associated with workplace pressure and the retail environment.
