Job summary

Mural Group Industrial in Memphis, TN is seeking Battery Room Technicians to support a 24/7 distribution operation on a fixed schedule. You will own the battery room, keeping forklift batteries charged, maintained, and ready to run every shift.

This hands-on, safety-critical role offers up to $25 per hour, with higher pay for those with direct battery room or DC maintenance experience. Training is available for strong candidates from related trades.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.
1–2 years of hands-on battery room or related maintenance experience.
Familiarity with lead-acid battery maintenance (watering, equalization, SG tests).
Experience following OSHA safety protocols and using PPE.
Able to lift 50+ lbs and operate battery lifts/hoists.
Reliable attendance; this operation requires consistent presence.

Responsibilities

Perform routine lead-acid battery maintenance (watering, cleaning, equalization, capacity testing).
Execute battery changeouts and swaps to keep lift trucks running throughout each shift.
Inspect chargers, connectors, and cables; perform basic repairs and escalation as needed.
Monitor charge/discharge cycles and maintain maintenance logs.
Troubleshoot batteries using voltmeters, hydrometers, and diagnostic tools.
Keep the battery room clean and OSHA compliant.
Handle and neutralize electrolyte spills with proper PPE.
Coordinate battery swaps with forklift operators to minimize disruption.
