Job summary

Airtronics Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer / Industrial Engineer to support mechanical design of industrial chemical process equipment for battery recycling and critical materials recovery.

You will collaborate with chemical engineers, chemists, technicians, and controls personnel to design, build, modify, and troubleshoot bench-scale and scale-up systems. The ideal candidate will hold a BS in mechanical/industrial/manufacturing engineering, demonstrate solid-SolidWorks capability, and

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or closely related field.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks and mechanical drawing development.
• Experience with mechanical design of process equipment or industrial systems.
• Ability to design parts and assemblies fabricable, maintainable, and adaptable.
• Strong collaboration with chemical engineers, chemists, technicians and controls personnel.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical Process Design: design systems and equipment for chemical and electrochemical development.
• Translate process requirements into mechanical designs for reactors, separators, tanks, pumps, transfer lines, filtration systems, solids handling, and sample points.
• Assist in scale-up for bench-scale, semi-continuous, and future operations.
• Develop SolidWorks models, assemblies, drawings, and BOMs for process equipment and fixtures.
• Use mechanical analysis tools to assess structural, thermal, fluid-handling, or manufacturability concerns.
• Coordinate fabrication with internal/external resources for prototyping, installation, and revisions.
• Support integration of pumps, tanks, tubing, containment, and equipment layouts.
• Maintain design records, drawing packages, revision histories, test notes, and engineering documentation.
