Job summary

Zipline is seeking engineers to own validation systems and test campaigns for autonomous power electronics hardware. You will design, build, automate, and operate the test infrastructure that validates batteries, power distribution, and related systems across development, qualification, manufacturing, and field support.

You will lead escalating validation strategies, develop fixtures and data acquisition, and collaborate with Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, Software, Reliability, and

Qualifications

• Experience building validation systems or engineering test infrastructure for complex electromechanical products.
• Proven ability to design custom fixtures, automation, and data acquisition systems.
• Strong understanding of measurement systems, sensors, DAQ hardware, and lab practices.
• Experience developing automated test software (Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB) and related workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design and build mechanical, electrical, and software-integrated test equipment for battery cells, packs, and power electronics.
• Develop validation strategies for functional, environmental, vibration, and thermal testing of power systems.
• Create fixtures, wiring harnesses, data acquisition systems, and high-throughput test hardware.
• Develop automated test sequences, data collection, and analysis workflows to improve repeatability.
• Plan and execute battery characterization, DV&P/R, vibration, thermal cycling, and electrical validation campaigns.
• Collaborate across Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, Software, Reliability, Manufacturing, and Field Ops to translate questions into validation plans.
